Product description

Description: Georges Lignier is a cousin of the renowned Hubert Lignier, and while the two estates are clearly separate operations, they do share some of the greatest vineyards in and around Morey-Saint-Denis. Domaine Georges Lignier are a fascinating contrast to the more intense and structured wines of Hubert Lignier. Their approach is very traditional, as they seek to achieve maximum aromatic concentration, above nearly all other characteristics, including structural or color concentration. Visually the wine exhibits the color of magenta with aromas of purple flowers, nutmeg, and wild mixed berries. Light-bodied wine with lots of gripping tannins throughout the length of the palate. Tart cherry and a chalky mineral tone on the mid-palate with a long pomegranate and floral finish.

Food pairings: Charcuterie, cheeses (Brie, Gruyere, Swiss, etc.), chicken, duck, earthy flavored dishes, fennel, ginger based food, lamb, mushroom, pork loin, grilled salmon, etc.
