Description: Marquis de Calon is the second label of Chateau Calon-Segur which was designated a 3rd growth producer in the famous 1855 classification of the wines in the Medoc. This wine is made at the estate using some younger vines and 2nd choice grapes selected after producing the great Chateau Calon-Segur.
"A bottle of wine I'd happily drink, the 2019 Le Marquis De Calon Ségur sports a ruby/purple hue as well as classic Saint-Estèphe notes of red and black fruits, damp earth, leafy herbs, and even some spicy, floral nuances that I don't normally find in young Saint-Estèphe. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's nicely balanced, has well-integrated acidity and tannins, and outstanding length. It's a rock solid second wine with loads to love." - Jeb Dunnuck (04/2022).
