Description: The Domaine de Chevalier located in Pessac- Léognan, the Capital town of the Graves Region has a long history. It appears on the famous map of Pierre de Belleyme in 1783. In 1983 the estate was purchased by the Bernard Family, N° 1 in France on the spirits market and a major negociant of premium Bordeaux wines. It has been run ever since by Olivier Bernard who perpetuates that spirit of balance and the constant drive for perfection which have been the hallmark of this outstanding wine. Domaine de Chevalier, one of the top wines within thePessac-Léognan appellation belongs to the elite of the great classified growths of Bordeaux. L'Espirit de Chevalier is the second label of this famous house, they wanted above all for it to carry the hallmark of Chevalier and to reflect the "Spirit" of the estate, combining power and complexity but also finesse and elegance in total respect of the “terroir”. This is the main reason to acquire some of these wines due to the pedigree of the house and vineyards.

Nice garnet color at the center of the glass, ruby at the rim. Aromas remind us of Pessac-Leognan terroir where you smell red currants splashed over gravelly stone. Violets (low-hanging), cassis, nutmeg also comes to mind. The palate reveals sturdy tannins upfront with good acid/ alcohol balance. Undertones of black earth completes this symphony of flavors, should continue to age gracefully.
