Description: This rare grape varietal is a cross between Pinot Blanc and Riesling, with rich, fruity flavors and nice minerals. Its first cultivation dates back to 18th century Italy. Today it is grown throughout Northeastern Italy, but finds its truest expression in the alpine valleys of Trentino. The Cesconi family has been tending their vines since the 18th century. Today, the four Cesconi brothers have embraced biodynamic principles and organic farming methods and planted to local varietals that reflect the viticultural and gastronomic traditions of the region. These are handcrafted wines of outstanding transparency and substance that showcase the local terroir.
The wine has aromas of white flowers and stone-fruit, with a hint of spice on the palate, and a smooth minerality on the finish.
Food Pairing: White meats, meaty white fish, salmon, turkey, pasta with sundried tomatoes/olives, aged cheese, etc.
