Description: The McIntyre Estate was established by Steve McIntyre, renowned Viticulturist in California. The estate lies in the "sweet spot" on the rolling benchland below the Santa Lucia mountain range. Which offers excellent exposure to the cooling air of the Pacific Ocean and excellent drainage. Originally planted in 1973, the 80-acre site boasts some of 'The Highlands’ oldest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards. Since purchasing the property in 1987, the McIntyre family has enhanced the viticultural practices at the site and elevated the quality of the fruit.
This Chardonnay has it all: fruit, structure, richness, balance and length. It is the epitome of what the Santa Lucia Highlands can do with this noble variety in a great year. The nose is a mélange of slate, toast and caramel apples. The palate is lush but refreshing thanks to the firm acidity and underlying minerality. This is a delicious and versatile wine that will pair well with just about any cuisine.
