Description: Since 1871, the Nicolas family has taken extra special care of La Conseillante. With successive generations, vintage by vintage, they have added new chapters to its story.
Each line of vignerons has strived towards the same goal: to preserve this unique vineyard and pass it down to the next generation. Pomerol is located on a plateau that gently slopes down towards the valley of the Isle river, a tributary of the Dordogne. Situated around a precious central core of clay, known as the Pétrus clay button. Neighbors to Vieux Chateau Certan, Chateau L'Evangile, and adjacent to Chateau Cheval Blanc in Saint-Emilion. As all wine in Pomerol, they were never classified like the wines from the left bank (Haut-Medoc) but Chateau La Conseillante is considered to be one of the great wines of all Bordeaux.
"2015 was a superb vintage in Bordeaux. We could even rank it as outstanding in the Pomerol appellation. It is a long-ageing vintage just like 2009. The crew at La Conseillante worked tirelessly in the pursuit of the finest quality of fruit in the vines and precision winemaking in the cellars. These efforts in perfect harmony with the DNA of La Conseillante, have produced a wine that offers aromatic precision, elegance, and balance." -Marielle Cazaux, Winemaker & Managing Director
