Description: Born in the reign of Louis XV, Joseph de Pichon-Longueville witnessed France’s three revolutions, five kings, two republics, and one empire. Through his work and commitment over 70 years, Joseph built a magnificent wine estate with 50 hectares under vine. Being worthy of the founding Countess and those who have built the reputation of Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande wines for more than two centuries is not about simply repeating what has already been done before. It is about continuing to make progress, researching, innovating, calling our practices into question, moving with the times and looking ahead to the future.
A typical Pauillac wine on the nose, offering a complexity of cedar and tobacco, but also blackcurrant, raspberry and a hint of clove and violet. The same flavors in the mouth of raspberries, violet and peony but not overpowering. This fine wine, distinguishes itself between a balance of great flavor and density. The tannic structure is distinct, fine and firm, with a long, soft, savory finish.
