Description: Ehren sources the Chardonnay from Block F, which is considered Hudson’s best source for the varietal. In fact, Failla and Kongsgaard are the only two who purchase fruit from Block F. These vines were planted in 1984 and in 2006 they were replanted to “Shot Wente” clones which produces low yields, matures early and has high natural acidity. Hudson Block F Chardonnay is intensely aromatic and refreshingly mineral-textured.
“The 2018 vintage may turn out to be the vintage of the decade. A long, cool growing season brought us beautifully clean fruit full of vibrancy, energy, and great depth of character. The magic of this vintage found during harvest will continue to beguile us for years to come” – Ehren Jordan, owner Failla Wines.
"Pale yellow with green reflections, still appearing to show its youthfulness. The nose upon opening is a little tight, featuring aromas of garlic-butter, Meyer lemon, and shortbread. On the palate, silky texture and a round, medium-bodied mouthfeel. Upfront Quince, hazelnut, and dried honey. The wine is vibrant with integrated acidity and finishes with a savory garlic-butter character." - Eric White, The Winery
