Grape: 100% Syrah Region: Italy> Tuscany> Maremma> Marujo Vyd. Notes: 12 months in Terra Cotta tanks. No added sulfites. Certified organic. Description: The Casteani estate was established in 2000 with vineyards that are very close to the sea. The vineyards are located right in front of the estate, as this proximity allows for them to start working on the grapes immediately after harvest. Lovely, dark expressions of earth, clay, and blackberries. The palate reveals a highly layered wine that will evolve in the glass and/or with ageing. Medium to full-bodied with pepper, black fruit, mushroom, and umami. The mineral tone is intrinsically intertwine making this an elegant wine. Food pairings: mushroon sauces/ dishes, filet mignon, roasted/ grilled meats, wild boar, duck, lamb, rabbit stew, strong flavored cheeses, etc.
