Description: Francisco Freire serves as the winemaker, advised by the renowned French oenologist Emeric Geneviere. The vineyard is located in a very unique terroir, 5 km away from the Pacific Ocean, near San Antonio. The climate is ideal for Pinot Noir due to its delicate nature. Pinot Noir can't take a lot of heat and teh cool sea breezes of the Pacific ocean helps maintain a balanced growing season. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes a natural approach, utilizing native yeasts for fermentation and keeping sulfite levels low to allow the unique terroir of the San Juan area to shine through in the final product. “This earthy red has a tight nose showing subtle notes of berries. After aeration, it reveals aromas of mushroom and forest floor. On the palate, flavors of cherry, mushroom and smoke are balanced by energetic acidity that carries through the finish.” - W.E.
Food Pairing: Mushroom Risotto, truffle pasta, pork tenderloin, grilled salmon/tuna, etc.
