Description: The Abbona winery is represented by the hard work of Marziano Abbona and his son Celso. Today, the vinevards of Abbona extend over the best-positioned territories in Dogliani, Monforte 'Alba and Novello. All owned by the winery, the vineyards include some of the most renowned crus in the Langhe and are cultivated in the highest respect for the
surrounding environment and for those who work in the vineyards. The wine has a light, rustic-ruby color with a touch of garnet. Aromas of Italian herbs (sage, oregano, and thyme comes to mind) and red currants. The wine reveals good gripping tannins throughout the length of the palate. Notes of tar, rose petals, and red fruit toward the finish.
Food pairings: Beef (braised, stewed, grilled), hard cheeses, game meats, mushroom dishes, oxtails, pasta with rich meat sauces, risotto, truffles, etc.
