Fruity, earthy, pretty, light-body red wineGrape: 95% Gamay Noir, 5% Syrah. Region: USA> New York> Finger Lakes> Cayuga Lake. Notes: Sustainable farming. Oak barrel aging.
Light-bodied wine with soft, pretty aromatics of dried flowers, red berries, and hints of earthy forest floor. In true Beaujolais fashion, you may serve this wine with a slight chill, however, the option is yours to decide. Made from Gamay Noir with a touch of Syrah, wine was fermented in a tank and aged in used French barrels. Sheldrake Point sits prominently on the western shore of Cayuga Lake and our vineyards stretch virtually to the beach, situated on a slope between two gorges that feed into Cayuga Lake. The site is blessed with well-drained, glacier soils, derived from shale, limestone and slate, and considered ideal for grape production.
