Description: Tiago Sampaio is the innovative young winemaker. His incurable fascination that led him into agricultural studies at Santo Tirso, then five years at the University in Vila Reall. Tiago complelted his PhD studies in Oregon for Viticulture and Enology where he picked up on modern philosophies and the aesthetics of winemaking, while never forgetting his roots in the Douro. Deep violet-purple color with aromas of black cherries and smoked bacon. On the palate this wine is medium-bodied with good lean tannins (velvety texture) that help create an elegant but firm structure. A core of dried red currants and black cherries with a layer of smoked bacon fat toward the finish. This is a well-made, biodynamic wine that will continue to develop and get better over the next few years.
