Description: The Herzánovi Winery started as a small family affair in 1997 when Jakub and Zuzana’s father planted their first vines in Kobylí. The current generation took the helm of the family estate in 2012. Jakub and Sandra are both trained winemakers who met while studying at the winemaking college in nearby Lednice. Part of the wines are made in Georgian Qvevri, as a result of Jakub’s interest in maceration and its influence on wine. The trio are strong believers in biodynamics and count among the founders of the Czecho-Slovak Demeter group. The wine has a light garnet color with aromas of barnyard, animal musk, and red fruit. The palate is light-bodied, bright acidity, and dusty tannins. The mid-palate is perfect for natural wine lovers who wants the Funk, tart morello cherries and musk are prevalent throughout the length of the palate.
