Description: Pascal Arnoux is the fifth generation to head the family estate in Chorey-les-Beaune, a village just north of Beaune. Commited to the land and vines, Pascal tirelessly works the soil multiple times a year. Pascal favors freshness over big structure. With his father as a cooper, Pascal became an expert in barrel selection, though there is very little new oak in the cellar.
2015 is a spectacular vintage in Burgundy and the Arnoux Savigny Les Beaune is a wonderful example of silky smooth elegance and grace. Deep vermillion color with lighter ruby reflections around the rim. Aromas of Cherry Blossom and undertones of cumin spice and saddle leather. The palate reveals sour cherries that move over notes of asian five spice. Highly polished tannins and good acid/ alcohol balance will keep this wine on path to be a stunner in several years. However, this wine is definitely approachable now and may not last once you taste it.
Food Pairings: goat cheeses, mushroom dishes, soy sauvce, chicken, roasted duck, eggplant, game, lamb, pork loin, broiled salmon, tuna, etc.
