Grape: 100% Nebbiolo Region: Italy> PIedmonte> Barolo> Cannubi Vyd. Notes: 30 to 50 year old vines, 2 years in large oak barrels plus 1 year in bottle before release.
Description: The Damilano family has farmed grapes and produced wines in the commune of Barolo since the late 1800’s. They are the largest land owner of the Cannubi vineyards, the most prestigious in all of Barolo. Winemaker, Guseppe Caviola has done it again with this amazing wine that is crafted for immediate satisfaction and long- term cellaring. At first sight, what is most striking is its ruby red color with hints of maroon and orange reflections. Intense aromas of low hanging violets, rose petal and cherry wood. Compared to the Lecinquevigne, the Cannubi is fuller, intensely scented, with finer polished tannins. Excellent alcohol and acid balance; layers of brambly red fruit, potpourri, and cherry licorice root. This is a wine that is absolutely stunning today, tomorrow, and beyond.
