Grape: 100% Blaufrankisch. Region: Slovenia> Stajerska> Posavje. Notes: Sustainable Farming, Neutral Oak aging.
Description: Terroir-driven, unfiltered, native yeasts, with minimal use of sulfites at bottling. This Blaufränkisch comes from the private family vineyards of Bojan Kobal, the master winemaker behind the Pullus line of wines (yes, we have that too). Kobal really makes the terroir come through, located in Štajerska (southeast Slovenia). A delightful, multi-layered, and elegant expression of the Blaufränkisch grape at a bargain price. Blaufränkisch is a dark, ruby-colored wine with wild pomegranate, mulberries and dried garrigue herb expressions. The texture is chewy with firm tannins and a slight prickle on the palate.
Food Pairing: Ham, pork chops, pizza, game, charcuterie, hard cheese, roasted squash, brussels sprouts, etc.
