Grape: 100% Tempranillo. Region: Spain> Ribera del Duero> Pedrosa de Duero. Notes: 18 mo. barrel aging. Min. 8 mo. bottle aging.
Description: Amongst the flood of overly fruity style wines of the modern Ribera del Duero, this wine shines with elegance and classicism. The family owns 135-hectare vineyards in Pedrosa de Duero, with over 25 year old Tempranillo vines that grow on privileged soils of chalky-clay at an altitude of 800m above sea level with an Atlantic influence.
Meaty, sumptuous and full of character, this wine shows aromas of cherry compote, boysenberry, pipe tobacco and vanilla-cream accents. In the mouth, it is balanced, velvety, and voluminous. Finishes with a hint of dusty ripe tannins. A mature wine worth the price.
Food Pairings: Red meats, lamb, charcuterie, hard cheese, etc.
