Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Italy> Friuli-Venezia-Fiulia> Isonzo.
Notes: Stainless steel tank, sustainable.
Sauvignon Blanc from Friuli is a hidden treasure. The Isonzo wines tend to be Sancerre like but with bigger texture and weight. Overtones of green bell-pepper and tomato leaf, grapefruit and white peach, minty thyme and rosemary. No malolactic fermentation to keep the zippy freshness. The estate’s land has changed little over the course of the centuries. 80 hectares of vineyards take root in loose and gravely soils of the area which is known to be one of the drier and somewhat warmer regions of Friuli’s winegrowing region. The area lies on a plain of alluvial soils along the Isonzo river, hence its name.
Food Pairings: Smoked salmon, prosciutto and melon, lemon chicken, seafood, shellfish, salads and light meals.
