Grape: 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier;
Notes: 100% Grand Cru, Extra Brut is drier than a standard Brut, minimum 4 years aging in oak, Kosher, NM (negociant-manipulant, but really it's RM).
Description: Complex, subtle nose of pear, spices, citrus, herbs and toasted bread. Fine beads with a silky mousse and a rich, golden color. Established in 1633 in the Grand Cru village of Verzy, 12th generation Alain Sacy still makes and develops Grand Cru Champagnes. This Champagne was a personal favorite of legendary singer Josephine Baker.
Technically , this is a NM (negocient manipulant: a champagne maker who buys grapes to make wine), but it is really an RM (grower champage) becuase the grapes come from their siblings' vineyards.
