Description: Aleatico is a red grape that has been vinified as a white wine; Andrea Occhipinti is the first winemaker to do this with the Aleatico grape. Some think Aleatico is a variation of the Muscat family of grapes because of its flowery characteristics. The nose has floral notes accented by lychee and spice. On the palate there is melon, apricot and citrus. The finish is bright, minerally and dry.
Food pairing: meaty fish, Italian cheeses, roasted white meats, pasta with oil and herbs or a cream sauce.
