Description: Cantina Velenosi was established in 1984, with the purpose of reaching harmony between taste and color. Combining artisan tradition and modern technology, Ercole and Angela Velenosi, with Paolo Garbini, have creatively re-interpreted the wine-making process and established a company that focuses on the Piceno territory through its unique wines. Located in the hills stretching towards the sea, their vineyards absorb the most authentic flavors of the territory. The Pecorino grape take its name from the old tradition of the transhumance. During this period, shepherds were bringing their "Pecora" (Sheep is the English translation) to the hilly area surrounded by the vineyards. The Sheep like to graze on this type of grape, so shepherds were referring to the vines as “Pecorino”.
