Description: Greenhough is located in Hope, near Nelson at the top of New Zealand's South Island. In late 1990, Andrew Greenhough and Jenny Wheeler moved to Nelson \to embark on a new challenge and way of life. The 10 acre property they bought had been established much earlier (1976) as a small vineyard and winery and it was here that the apprenticeship in viticulture began. The Sauvignon Blanc is fermented with indigenous yeasts in new and old oak. Aromas of of citrus blossom, tangelo and passionfruit with fresh, greener nettle notes. This is echoed in the character and range of flavors throughout the palate. At first fresh and vibrant, the wine opens with a little time to reveal a softer, generous core of melon, tangelo and ripe citrus fruit.
