Description: The Pato family has been producing wine at Quinta do Ribeirinho since, at least, the eighteen century. In 1980, Luis Pato inherited this family, nonconformist tradition and produce his first wine, a pure Baga with exceptional quality and absolute rareness that is sought by and appreciated as a treasure.
Since that time, he has been committed to the native grapes of the land and makes terroir-driven, structured wines with mid-term ageing potential. These wines come from and around Bairrada DOC. This area is an wine growing area that I discovered almost 20 years ago and believe it's has the most potential for making elegant wines with native grapes (Touriga Nacional and Baga).
