Grape: 100% Bohort Folle Blanche. Region: France> Loire Valley> Pays Nantais. Notes: Organic, spontaneous fermentation, native yeast, very low sulfites.
Description: Folle Blanche, the varietal traditionally used in France for making Cognac and Armanac, is mostly grown in the Pais Nantais region of France (overlapping the Muscadet region). Bohort has AOC rights within the Gros Plant de Pays Nantais appellation, but Nicolas Suteau has chosen not to apply for this classification. Bohort is a ripe Folle Blanche. Unlike many of the ultra-light and acidic examples of this variety, Bohort shows the very best side of Folle Blanche with a pale yellow color, a delicate, mineral dominated nose, salinity and a fresh finish.
