Product description

Description: “For my entire wine career, I’ve been infatuated with the red wines of France’s Southern Rhône Valley. During my years working with importer Kermit Lynch we specialized in these wines, and for the family’s first vacation in France, we rented a farmhouse in Roussillon, near Châteauneuf du Pape. We spent a month exploring the area, learning its history while experiencing the food, the scenery, and its relaxed friendliness. We were especially struck by the wines, delicious blends of exotic grape varieties not often seen in California. On our return, we made a California counterpart of traditional southern Rhône red wine, and we call it Sage Canyon Red. " - Bruce Neyers

"Offers ripe wild blackberry and huckleberry notes that mingle with Kalamata olive and fresh sage flavors. A terrific mix of fruity and savory elements, with cigar box and malty Assam black tea lingering on the finish. Delivers polished tannins. Carignane, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Drink now through 2035. 3,033 cases made."—MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator.
