Description: Bright medium red. Aromas of black cherry and licorice accented by tar and tobacco. Lovely depth and subtle fruitiness. A very elegant wine. Domaine Albert Morot has been synonymous with AOC Beaune since 1820. This benchmark domaine has been continuously run by founder Albert Morot’s descendants. The wines are aged in oak barrels, 30 percent new, for up to 16 months. In an effort to avoid adding sulfur, they don’t rack the wines until they are ready to be bottled, allowing the carbon dioxide to serve as a natural protection against oxidation. The wines are then bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the natural character of the fruit. The vines average 50 years of age and yields are kept low.
