Description: Alella Vinícola is a family winery created in 1906 in the heart of the DO Alella. The winery has made Alella famous, promoting the creation of the Alella D.O. during the 50's. Most vineyards are located in the center of the town, in the heart of the D.O., 15 kilometers north of Barcelona. Marfil has been the emblematic brand of the winery since 1920; it has been the white wine of Barcelona throughout the 20th century. The label was created in the early twentieth century. "The wine is ight straw in color with a green hue. Notes of spice and an aromatic nose with wild herbs, almonds, walnuts, citrus and white fruit. Medium-bodied, a slight touch of sweetness on the palate, green apple, pear and candied citrus. Nicely balanced acidity and a fairly long finish." (Andreas Larsson, 2018. Best Sommelier in the World in 2007).
