Fruity, full-body dessert wine
Grape: Lacrima, Visciola Cherry.
Region: Italy> Marche> San Marcello.
The visciole cherry, an ancient variety of wild, dark red sour cherry grown in Italy’s Marche region, gives Velenosi’s Querciantica Visciole its hue and flavor. The historic recipe calls for allowing cherries to macerate whole and partly crushed with sugar, triggering a fermentation process that slowly produces a final fragrant liquid. Querciantica Visciole is a blend of ¼ Visciole and ¾ Lacrima di Morro d’Alba wine. With a slight chill, it’s like drinking in fresh blueberries and cherries; the floral edge and powerful acidity are more than enough to breathe air through the slightly viscous sweetness. Fantastic addition to your cocktail or dessert making recipes.
Food pairing: Try it for dessert with dark chocolate truffles.
