Grape: 100% Zinfandel
Region: USA> California> Napa Valley> Chiles Valley.
Notes: All estate Zinfandel, 12 months in Oak (30% new French and American).
Description: Established in 1996 by the Brown family. In January 2000 they debuted their first three vintages at the annual ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) Grand Tasting in San Francisco. Needless to say, they were a hit and 20 years later they have grown their business to one of the very best, high-quality Zinfandel wine producers.
Lovely, ripe Strawberry bramble and cream aromas upon opening. The 2015 is not quite as balance or restrained like the 2014. However it’s delicious and jammy with notes of baking spices, ripe strawberries, and sweet oak tannin on the finish.
As the wine continues to aerate (3 hours), notes of roasted herbs and low hanging violets start to develop on the nose. Although the wine is still fairly tight and slightly gripping, notes of mullberries, baking spices and dark chocolate come to the forefront.
