Strength: 48% ABV (96 proof)
Description: Cooper Fox Distillery was formed in January of 2000 by Rick Wasmund. The operation is based in Sperryville, Virginia. The revelation of a distinct and wonderful single malt whisky using fruitwood smoke came to Rick in years prior after visiting a slew of American micro-distileries. Cooper Fox Whisky was launched into the marketplace as the first apple and and cherry wood smoked whisky in the word. These distinct whiskies focus on the time honored, but currently rare hand malting process, using the smoke of smoldering fruitwoods during malting. Notes of cherry fruit, vanila, sherry, caramel, cinnamon, cloves and hardwood smoke.
Definition: Single malt whisky is malt whisky from a single distillery, that is, whisky distilled from a fermented mash made with malted barley, as distinguished from unmalted grain.
Single malts are typically associated with single malt Scotch, though they are also produced in various other countries.
