Bourbon: Bourbon must be produced in America. Bourbon has to be distilled from at least 51% corn and other grain varieties Which include wheat, rye, or barley, and then aged in new charred oak barrels. The type of grain and water contribute greatly to the taste of a paticular whiskey.
This is not just a common practice but actual Bourbon Law. Bourbon must be bottled at no less than 40% alcohol and aged a minimum of 2 years in new American charred oak barrels. Straight Bourbon must not contain any flavoring, coloring or other additives.
The spirit is required to be a product of one season,one distiller,and one distillery.
